
The Bridestowe Estate Lavender Farm is considered one of Tasmania’s most spectacular sites during flowering in December and January. The five week harvest begins in late December with the distillation and processing of the lavender in full swing. The air of tranquillity, subtle fragrance and beauty of Bridestowe continues to attract visitors throughout the year.
Self guided tours are available all year around and guided tours are available by appointment for groups. A transcript of this tour is available in Japanese, Indonesian and German. An excellent audio-visual presentation is screened in the visitor centre all year round detailing the Estate's remarkable history as well as harvesting and distillation processes. The beautiful Visitor's Centre showcases a large range of lavender products including the very finest Bridestowe lavender oil and dried flowers. There are also locally made arts and crafts also featuring Bridestowe's Tasmanian lavender. Our café offers a selection of light refreshments, espresso coffee and teas. Try our Bridestowe Lavender tea, or a Bridestowe Lavender ice-cream incorporating the sophistication of Bridestowe Lavender Oil and Bridestowe Culinary Lavender Flowers. We have cheese, fudge, confectionary and of course, world acclaimed Bridestowe Lavender Flower Honey.
Picnic under the century old oak trees, stroll through our endless fields, browse for gifts in the shop. During the flowering season from the 1st December through to the 31st of January there is a gate charge of $7 for adults, children under 16 enter free. Bridestowe Estate is open from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm seven days a week throughout the summer months, and Monday to Friday during winter. We are closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday. Coach and car parking are available. There is access and toilet facilities for the disabled.
