Huon Pine Facts

Huon Pine contains a naturally occurring ingredient that gives the timber its unique smell, preservative and repellent qualities.

Linii Huon Pine products are designed to repel mites, silverfish, moths and fleas. Huon Pine’s unique and natural volatile oils will keep an area free of these pests, discouraging them from nesting in the same area.

Huon Pine is an extremely effective odour absorbent and can be used in the kitchen, toilet, car, etc. Huon Pine will absorb the odour, not just cover it up, and leave a lovely fresh Tasmanian rain forest fragrance to the air.

Our Huon Pine Wardrobe Pouches are effective moisture absorbers as well. Huon Pine will breathe with the environment so when it is very wet and humid, the pouches will absorb up to one third of their weight in moisture and as the air naturally dries, it will release absorbed moisture back to the atmosphere.

Huon Pine has a warm, spicy fragrance. The aroma is subtle and reminiscent of cloves, pine and leatherwood.

Our Huon Pine Pouches will last approximately 18 months. The pouches can be refreshed from time-to-time by adding a few drops of water to the insert.

Linii finely milled Huon Pine Pouches are sealed during manufacture. Instructions for activation of the pouches accompany the product.

Once you have opened the packaging, you will get effective use from your product for many months before you need to refresh the contents.

• Place small pouch bag into shoes, boots or sports bags to get rid of odours and prevent the information of mould.

A 70g bag will effectively protect an enclosed area approximately the size of a small wardrobe.

​A 285g bag can be divided up into smaller bags and placed around the home or placed in the toilet. This sized bag is also great to empty into an animal bed to protect against new flea occurrences.

​A 160gm carpet freshener will effectively deodorize the carpets in a small to medium sized home.

​Draught Stopper Door Snakes can be placed in front of external or internal doors to stop air movement from one room to another. They are also an effective barrier for small bugs and mites entering the home through unsealed gaps under external doors.

The Huon Pine is one of Australia’s oldest living organisms. The average fully matured tree is in excess of 2000 years old.

This tree is endemic to Tasmania and is found no where else in the world.

Sustainable Timber Tasmania are the only entity that may remove already fallen timbers from the forests, rivers, estuaries and inlets within the World Heritage Protected Area of Tasmania. This means that, only timber that has already fallen. No cutting of standing Huon Pine is allowed.

​This resource is carefully managed and their are only a handful of licensed operators that can purchase these timbers directly from Sustainable Timber Tasmania stock piles under a quota system.
